Originally 144-148MHz (VHF) and 420-450MHz (UHF) K5(99)  now modified for a dual antenna solution, the case had been modified to incorportate an additions sma aerial connectionin place of the LED, the LED has been removed for to allow for additional HF antenna.

I've upgraded the FM receiver chip with a SI4732 based Soft Board that adds Full Band HF Reception! Single Sideband (USB & LSB), CW & AM Reception over 150KHz to 30MHz.

Additional instruction manual to follow.

Also, Broadcast Band FM reception mode - with a nice sound and also AM Airband as well.

Pre-flashed with CEC 0.51HF Firmware - BFO, frequency lookup table, selectable tuning rates and lots more see info link for full details.

Other firmware available that offer such ability as APRS, sstv and even WSPR operation with tx (vhf /uhf again not HF)

Mod board details:

Installed is a S14732 based soft board thad adds the fantastic feature of HF shortwave full-band reception/single sideband reception to this neat and great value hand-held.

1. Add an audio amplifier to solve the problem of extremely low volume of SSB single sideband, and the effect is obvious.

2. Redesign FM and HF bandpass filters,

3. An ESD tube is added to the input terminal for electrostatic protection and strong signal protection when transmitting in the UV section of dual antennas.

4. Use FPC soft board, the board thickness is 0.12mm, safe and reliable without short circuit, and the installation does not support the speaker.

5. Use high-quality high-frequency wire-wound chip inductors with high Q value, small internal resistance, and strong filtering selectivity.

6. This is a dual-antenna solution, an additional level of band-pass filtering is added to the antenna input end, and a feeder and SMA head are used to an HF independent antenna from the original the LED position (led remived), which does not affect the UV performance of the original transceiver.

Fantastic mod for an already capable little hand-held. I am keeping one for myself - I absolutely love these little radios.

Comes boxed; includes belt clip, charger I'm throwing in a UK plug adaptor - see image (converts EU 2 pin plug to UK 3 pin safely) , battery 1600mA, small lanyard, dual band antenna VHF/UHF

I'll add an additional Telescopic aerial and SMA - BNC adaptor (design may be different from that shown in picture) to get you started - but recommend a longer antenna for improved reception  -

See video of commercial FT8 signals received on 20m (14MHz) band.
